HELP! I fear my house is going to flood tomorrow.

I live in Devon six feet from a river, the house is 300 years old and we are told that it has never flooded before. The ground is saturated and this is the weather forecast tomorrow

Amazingly we're still dry!

It's still raining, with more heavy rain predicted. The river is back within its banks and the field has drained though. It's still fast flowing but isn't the raging torrent it has been. People have said this house never floods even though we are so close to the river it seemed unbelievable.

Thank you all for the advice and hand holding, I think the end might be in sight now.

I feel a bit bad being so relieved when so many other people have flooded and that poor woman in Exeter we killed by the storms. It makes my fears about flooding seem so trivial.
