Is there a paint like F&B cooking apple green, Only cheaper?

I've painted loads of tester patches on the wall, and we all like cooking apple green, but I'm baulking at the cost of the paint, especially as I have filthy children.

Is there a cheaper alternative. I know it won't be as nice.

Get it copied at a trade place eg Johnstone Leyland. It will be almost as nice. And wipeable.

If you go to a Leyland SDM, they have huge vast numbers of colour sheet things from different brands (dulux etc). They mix up samples for you - you can get them to colour match F&B, even -- they'll do this custom. Or you can take your green there, and hold them all up yourself. You might find you like slightly warmer/cooler/lighter/darker variants of the same colour even better (we did). Definitely paint a cardboard sheet with a sampler and hold it up to the wall to see what the colour looks like in your space.
We have one F&B wall, and the others are other brands where we liked certain warmths, etc that F&B don't have (and of course there's the price). But ..our painter said he really liked F&B and it's great quality, and we've noticed it. When the kids inevitably mark the walls, wiping with a damp cloth takes the mark and a bit of paint off for the other brands, but not the F&B...

I'd never thought of that! Will this leyland place be cheaper than the b&q counter?

I thought it would come off more readily, fussy, as it's quite chalky. Off to experiment with the millions of patches on the wall. (18 so far )

No just tell them the name. Their trade paint is much nicer to use than Dulux etc IMHO.

I've just scrubbed my sample patches with Ecover washing up liquid, my detergent of choice, and the Dulux came off instantly. The F&B stayed put, as did the Homebase own-brand. The F&B started to come off eventually, but I was scouring really hard for ages.

The Dulux went on horribly too & was patchy. I have multiple shades of each brand too.

Yes. We got a Dulux Trade paint which is app'ly exactly the same as Cooking Apple. I refuse to buy F&B, and have always used Dulux Trade. I think it was one of the Celtic Forests (don't know which number), but wouldn't swear by it. I do know that the one we chose did look exactly the same on the colour card as the F&B colour card Cooking Apple.
Otherwise ask them to scan Cooking Apple at one of those Dulux Mixer places. Some people tear of the colour sample as some DIY shop people say they aren't supposed to copy, but at our local they are happy to scan it straight from the F&B chart!
