Is this the right process 'post-flood/leak'

I think I worked it out and put it on another thread.......

"I think I see it as 4 distinct stages:

The wet
The removal of the ceilings
The plastering
The painting

The wet is over (I think) - so I want him back until they do they next bit"

Does that makes sense?

How much delay will there be between each stage?

have you had the old wet plaster removed? have you got dehumidifiers in? Have you hidden away your domestic hoover and bought a canister vac?

have the carpets been taken up, and the damp kitchen cabinets remoced?

Massive humidified on constantly

There is a reading of 180-190 in 2/3 small patches of wall & ceiling (no ceiling fell down as my friends husband removed all the insulation)

No kitchen cupboards got wet (thank goodness we would have had to close).

A company will come & do ceilings & decoration possibly after Christmas

If it's dry he can come back before it starts & then go away again

I think you need to clean up all the dust with your canister vac. I would also buy one or two ionising air purifiers which are very good for collecting fine particles, as small as pollen. Look on ebay. The Lloyds or Flixonase branded ones are what we use, often available for £10 or less and enough for a room. They are almost silent and usually last a couple of years, you can take out the filter to wash it, but when you first use them, dust falls out of the air and forms a ring on the table or wall around the device.

and have reasonably low humidity especially in the bedroom.

You can probably buy an inexpensive humidity meter in a hardware/gardening equipment shop. Some people use them in greenhouses.

Have a few of those disposable dust masks with the plastic valve on the snout handy, just in case he is affected by dust.

We are all moving out while they work

The only place to store stuff is our bedroom - & DD won't be able to sleep in her room so we are off to rented
