Ok, so I am sad but I love the colour scheme. The living room is a lovely light blue which manages not to be chilly, with the woodwork in a beautiful heavy cream. Any ideas for similar shades. Dulux colour match via iplayer, anyone?

Find out the makers of the programme and email/ask them?

shhhgobacktosleep · 08/11/2012 22:56

I know the clothes are from Joules but they do have a facebook page and their own website with a contact email so maybe try both of those places?

cjbk1 · 09/11/2012 09:06

Same here! it's just gorgeous I'm sure it's what keeps us going to southwold every year for the past 6 years and I just love the joules there too

herbaceous · 09/11/2012 10:30

The exterior of the house is actually in Aldburgh, and is a holiday cottage that we rented a few years ago! The inside I think might be a set.

But the town is deffo Southwold!

cjbk1 · 09/11/2012 16:22

where in aldeburgh? set or not I love the interior x

herbaceous · 09/11/2012 16:24

It's towards the north end, near the old town hall, and opposite the beach.

Here!

nancerama · 09/11/2012 16:26

The blue looks very much like Dulux Mineral Mist. I used to have it in my old house.

AlanMoore · 09/11/2012 16:26

Our DCs's bedroom is Craig & Rose Morris Blue and looks veeery similar...lovely colour it is :)

cjbk1 · 09/11/2012 20:31

Thanks herbaceous that's our next stay sorted lol

mollythewitch · 09/11/2012 22:10

Thanks everyone, will hunt out their contact details. I suspect it may be having either a seaside house flooded with sunshine, or a set with bright filming lights may help. All the light blues I've tried so far look a bit frosty. Maybe doesn't translate well to a dark Victorian terrace.

Morris Blue has quite a lot of green in it iyswim and isn't cold at all. I had done about a million squares trying to get a colour that worked in our poky little 1930s back bedroom in the industrial North :) definitely worth a swatch if you pass a B&Q.

mollythewitch · 10/11/2012 19:39

That sounds fab Alan, will have to give it a go. Just need to hunt for the perfect cream now!

Ooh, not just me then! Good luck with contacting the programme makers OP, I did that 2 years ago when I moved into new house, never heard a word sadly. Please come back and update thread if they do respond!

I reckon if I got arc lights in our back room it'd look same!

ExhaustTed · 10/11/2012 23:07

Ooh, we call that programme grandpa in mums ideal kitchen. Love the colours.

gatcum123 · 30/05/2013 08:45

I love the colour too and as we have cream Kitchen cupboards I am hoping to be able to create a similar look!! Will try the colours suggested on here! Am so pleased I am not the only one! I recorded an episode the other day so I could show my Husband. He thought I was slightly mad but luckily agreed that it was a good look:)

ggirl · 30/05/2013 12:15

that program was what inspired me to paint our downstairs lounge/kitchen diner in blue
also this room
We ended up using littlegreene co paint in starlings nest which is a pale duck egg colour.
I treid loads and loads of different paint shades and most had too much grey in them and looked too dark in the room.

Cosmosim · 30/05/2013 14:26

Sorry but you will never replicate the colour unless you have professional studio lights in your home. The lighting drastically changes the colours for better or worse.

justbinthefeckinbyebyebox · 07/05/2017 11:48

@mollythewitch
Sorry for zombie thread!
Did you find your colours?
I had a bedroom in old Dulux blueberry frost ( now discontinued) which came up just like Grandpa's house.
Recently painted a very dark cold bedroom in F&B borrowed light, and got a fabulous effect again!
Now I am going to do a new living room in the 'grandpa style again.
