If so, how much do you reckon?

Sorry forgot to mention. The screen is broken/cracked in two places. So it would be a replacement screen I guess.?

Price depends on screen size, technology (eg LCD or plasma) and availability of spares.

In general though the screen itself is by far the most expensive part of a TV, typically making up more than half the parts cost. If it's particularly big and old so making spares difficult to get hold of it may well be more cost-effective to buy a complete new TV.

How did it come to be broken/cracked ?

Put it in the boot of the car with a very light plastic casing on top. Didn't think it would damage it, but must have done during the journey.

Why I asked the question was if the damage had occurred in your home you could have spoken to your contents insurers, but as it was outside then it is a nonstarter .
