Good lighting shops / sites for low ceilings?

I'm a bit gutted that having found some lovely lights in John Lewis, I have now checked the ceiling heights and we don't have enough drop. Bedrooms need a drop below 35cm, living room below 50cm (60 at a push). I really am not keen on the twisty chrome arm type lights which seem to dominate the non-bathroom semi flush lighting market. Can anyone suggest either nice lights or shops or websites that I can browse?

Hi smalltown, yes that could work in our room (would maybe deter the boys from jumping on the bed!). I did come across this one which would maybe work in the bedroom, but chrome won't suit the living room.

This light was the one I'd originally planned on for the living room.
