I hate playing this game!
Our house is on the market with 2 agents at 'offers in excess of £140000' we dropped down from £155000 last thursday to get some intrest and to sell quick (origionally on the market for £159000)

We had an offer on saturday (it was left on the answer machiene by the time I got the message agent 1 had closed for the weekend) for £134000, and thats just too low, before I could call agent 1 back to say too low, agent 2 called at just before 9am and there has been an offer for £140000, but she thinks they will come up alittle further. So I said we would like alittle more, phoned agent 1 and told them of the offer and they are sure the 134 couple will come up alot.

Now I'm sat by the phone waiting for it to ring, feeling sick because I just dont want to 'play the game' Dh is at work and has almost no signal so I seem to be doing this by myself! I have no idea what I'm doing, but it just feels dangerous.

You will be fine. Just hold your nerve.

Do you have a figure in mind?

addictedisback · 22/10/2012 09:28

yes, to make it work financially we need around the £145000 figure, although there is scope to come slightly lower if the house we like will come just under stamp duty

Fingerscrossed you come as close to that as you can get. Fwiw I recently sold my house. I was originally offered 140k and we got 147.5k so hold your nerve for now.

MrsjREwing · 22/10/2012 09:31

Good luck, use the nerves to clean the oven or something rather than sit around.

addictedisback · 22/10/2012 09:34

Good idea mrsj I need to get both dc dressed.
I'm going to step away from the phone, its unlikely to ring now anyway the people will need to think about it right?

were up to £142500 and agent 2 is saying they wont go any higher.

agent 1 offered 142000 and is now working on the buyers to come up further fx

Not far now, fingers crossed.

I have never tided so quickly in my life! agent 1 rang at 3:45 to say they wanted to offer 145000 but before they did her mother (I'm guessing she is putting some funds towards it) wanted to see the place and could they look round at 4!
She seemed to really like it and fx they come back with the higher offer!

any news??

addictedisback · 24/10/2012 08:37

We did it! They offered 145000 and we accepted :o

Now I'm waiting by the phone to hear about the house we offered on. It's on the market for 130000 and we offered 127 I think that's quite reasonable considering were loosing 15k on ours
