How hard is it to refit your own bathroom?

Don't tell DH I'm asking this Grin.

He wants to refit the bathrooms in our (hopefully) next house himself. It will be cheaper, and his Dad/ brother have done it. He's a very practical hands-on type of chap (engineer by day, but not building services).

If you're not changing the layout, is it all that difficult?

Is this even a sensible question?

yes, between us me and dh refitted a bathroom ourselves. it was not that hard. I bought the stuff from bathstore ( lovely stuff, customer service TERRIBLE)

If you are keeping the plumbing in the same place and know how to turn the water off he will probably be fine!

Thanks both Smile I'll stop panicking now!

DP did ours in our old flat. This included changing the layout. It's worth spending a bit of time teaching yourself basic plumbing skills, eg copper pipe welding. Then it's fine.

DP will do our new bathrooms in this house, although we may get someone in to do the tiling as he finds it frustrating.

You dont need to weld and do complicated stuff now as you can buy flexi pipe and push fit elbows and connectors.

My Dad did his last year including tiling etc.
Retired QS so similar to your husband
