Can anyone advise what income santander take into account for mortgage purposes

When we last went for a mortgage (with Lloyds) they would take basic salary but not overtime iirc.

She said some couples put ctc etc as income.

Sanander looked at our disposable income so ignored salary and worked out what we had to pay out in addition to mortgage. i.e nos of children and childcare. they use standard metrics for your living costs so you can't say you'll live on baked beans for years. I also understand they looked at mortgage rates at 6% to work out if rates increased could we cope.

Please see an independent mortgage broker before speaking to Santander. I have heard some horror stories on another forum about them recently.
