Are shower cabins naff?

Having a nightmare trying to design our new bathroom. I am toying with the idea of a shower cabin with integrated jets but my friend commented they are naff and for old people. Have they had their time?

Question redundant since we bought a different shower this morning. I still liked the shower cabin though , whether it's "naff" or not !
