Bedroom floors

I am fed up of trying to remove children-related messes from bedroom carpets, interested to hear views on the alternatives. I know some people have things like Karndean if they have allergies, but how are these aesthetically in bedrooms? Or should I opt for man-made carpets that can be washed properly?

I have teenage girls (think lipstick, foundation, nail polish) and they have whitewashed laminate planks and they are great.

We are still at the wee/vomit/chocolate buttons stage, I hadn't thought that stains would be a problem after about 8

Both boys though, so lipstick less likely to be a problem :o

We have recently had vomit (a friend on a sleepover) and there is always chocolate!!

Are floorboards and cheap IKEA rugs an option?

bare boards are noiser, both the tapdancing elephants and conversation/TV noise getting through.

I've got a man made carpet for my Dcs rooms - a dark speckled green so it doesn't show stains too much anyway and it can be bleached without losing the colour - that sold it to me

Always think carpets are better in bedrooms, but just personal preference.

Don't know how to break it to you, RikersBeard but ds's carpet is FAR more stained than eith of my dds' carpets

Mmm I do prefer a carpet, I am just sick of cleaning them.
Think I might have a browse round some man made ones. BLeaching sounds good!
I am under no illusions about how mucky boys are either :o
