We just about to start work on a new extension which will comprise lounge/kitchen/diner. The flooring will be wood effect of some sort (oak colour) The kitchen will be a gloss putty sort of colour with brown quartz worktop. The walls will also probably be a neutral sort of stone colour. Therefore I want to go strong with accents of colour for things like the chairs/light fitting/cushions etc etc.

Any ideas? Whats 'in' at the moment? My thoughts so far had been hints of strong greens, maybe lime??? My other thought was red, white and blue, almost 'new england' style What do you think???

Before we hired a decorator to "Bring all of our Ideas together"... We studied
The magazine..."Architectural Digest"for many months.I cut out colors,ideas,
Window treatments, furniture and Arrangements. We still take the magazine.
I am working on "Landscaping" now.I particularly enjoy the "Celebrity" section
where you take a Tour of their homes. My hubby just Loves "Bruce Willis' home.
I do Not recommend Better Homes-...their ideas make you look like young
Newlyweds that don't Know any Better and are in Need of a Rummage Sale.

I'd go with greens (especially if it adjoins the garden as it will tie in nicely with the green out there) but I'd go with apple or leaf green rather than lime.

I'd also see if you can use some accessories in browns/stones/neutrals to go with the units and worktop. will go nicely with green. Simple tree and leaf prints would be good.

Fresh green and oak is quite a "mid century" colour scheme so Ercol furniture and vintage style lighting like Original BTC or Garden Trading Co could work well.
