Painting tiles

Our bathroom has fully tiled walls and is looking tired and shabby. We dont have the funds to rip all the tiles off and start again as I think it will also result in new plasterboards and skimming.

We arent going to be here more than another three years so just need it to look neat and cleaner.

Can we paint the tiles and grout? Nothing fancy just a nice bright white? We have navy towels and accessories and will put fresh probably grey lino down in the near future.

You can paint tiles but need special paint. I've done it and found it looked rustic rather than crisp iyswim - it was difficult to get the same breadth of colour across the whole tile and you could see brush strokes. It definitely freshened up pink and grey horribleness though.
