Large Table Lamp Needs New Wiring

Is this possible?

It's an old lamp with brass fittings but the bit that holds the bulb has snapped off. It's my fault for messing with the shade!

Can the whole thing be re-wired? I like it too much to part with it Sad

Yes, you will probably only need a new lampholder and not an actual rewiring of the fitting, I would expect the total cost to be no more than 10-15 pounds max including the new lampholder which will cost between 3-5 pounds max.

Thank you bureni, that's good news.

I might look on e bay and who knows, I might even be able to do it myself.

Mmm, I have had a closer look and my brass fixing doesn't have any screws. It just has a brass washer and then the neck of the lamp holder is very slim and is wobbling around on the top.

Perhaps it's so old it's obsolete.
