Will this lampshade fit on a ceiling light fitting?

Ok, being really stupid here but would love this light shade for our hall (need 3!). Ok, I know it says lampshade and it will fit most base fittings but will I be able to use it on a standard ceiling light fitting? Argh! Of course, you used to be able to walk into a Habitat and ask a question but not anymore... Thank you!

You should be fine as long as the cable is long enough, I don't think they look good when too close to the ceiling. On trend drum lamp shades have a patern inside the lampshade which IMHO looks great with this type of shade.

chippychop Can I have a link please? We desperately need some shades to go on the bare bulbs in our hall and I am sick of looking! The previous owner had not secured any of the wiring to the joists so we can only do very light (weighing!) shades till we can be arsed sort it out!

Angel I saw lightsoflondon.com had some but there is anothet shop nr me who stock lovely ones but i can't remember the make. I am going to the shotsing Thursday so will post the make. JL had some nice ones in.

If you have a dark hall you may wish to consider a different shape though so the light splays better

Look up "lush designs", (just remembered the name) there is another drained whom I prefer and who has the designs inside the drum that I'll come back with on Thursday

If nothing else they are a great focal point

angel1976 · 13/09/2012 19:33

I know Lush Designs! As in they are at a local market, I've always thought while their designs are fab, they are a bit 'kiddy'. I will have a look at their stuff again. Thank you very much! :)

What about Jen Rowland ( I think that's how she spells it) I think these are nicer than lush?

angel1976 · 14/09/2012 21:10

Oh wow, the Jen Rowland ones are lovely but £114 for one? Ouch!

The Jen Rowland ones are REALLY lovely. Outside my price range, sadly Sad

Chippychop · 14/09/2012 22:04

They are expensive... Havent bought one (yet...) by I got a second hand lamp stand for £8 so can sort of justify one, maybe.... Anyway I'm sure this is the way style/ trends are going so look out for this style in JL, Homebase, b&q etc

Devora · 14/09/2012 22:05

Gwan, treat yourself - you can eat next year Grin

angel1976 · 14/09/2012 22:17

Ha ha ha ha... But we have 5 shades to buy - there's two needed for our two receptions and three for the hall. OUCH OUCH and OUCH!
