Amtico or Karndean?

Seen some nice but top of the range Karndean flooring, the price is not far off the cost of Amtico.

Is it worth paying the extra to have the Amtico?

Thanks!

I would, I think the quality is better and it feels nicer underfoot.

Also Amtico is made in the UK and Karndean in China, nice to support British manufacturing IMHO...

Oh good thread - is there anything else slightly a lot cheaper than Amtico? As, although it is divine, it is just too expensive for us to afford.

we have amticoin the kitchen.
great if you have an uneven floor. easy to keep clean. we have marble effect tiles and they don't show the dirt.
it does scratch, though (have a few top layer scratches from moving furniture).

Great - we do have an uneven floor!

We have had cheap tiles for years so feel a bit like this is worth splashing out on.

We have karndean and love it. Whichever you choose it is the fitter you need to be fussy about especially if you are having twiddly bits. I have seen loads of badly fitted amtico. When you say uneven floors do you mean different levels of just in crap condition? The first part before laying is floor levelling using screed.

I had karndean fitted about 10 years ago. It still looks good!

I bought my amtico from one of the online stores.
