Just waiting on some quotes to come through, but generally what are they like to keep clean?

The guy kinda has us sold on he cream ones... Does anyone have these? We want them in every room...

If not Venetian, what else? Thanks

They can be a pain in the bum to keep clean; you can buy a venetian blind duster though which will make the job easier. What are you looking for from your blinds? If it's privacy, rigid vinyl verticals are a good, if more expensive, alternative. Venetian slats can be bent by children, pets etc but the rigid vertical slats are more durable. They're also great for keeping heat in during winter and keeping cool in summer.

Please think about child safety (see my thread on this topic!).

We have dark wooden ones throughout our house and they look very stylish. They do gather a bit of dust, but you close them and swish with a duster. Not 100% clean that way, but good enough.

What about shutters?

I have white wooden ones. They do get dusty, but I just swoosh them with one of those tumble dryer sheets.

One of my friend said whatever you do Fishfingers DO NOT get venetian - they are a total PITA to clean.

I don't like them personally as my mum has them everywhere. How about Roman?

Oh no, they're really not that bad. And I am NOT a lover of dusting.

I like them. They're clean and uncluttered and look much better than curtains in small rooms with low ceilings. Roman blinds look kind of 80s to me.

Vertical venetians look too office-y to me, but I think that's a regional thing.

Shutters can be really nice, but they are much more expensive and they cut out more light.
