Question for Piglet John or anyone else who knows a bit about joinery!

We want to put in bespoke bi-folding doors in the gap between our dining room and sitting room which measures 1830 x W and 2800 x H.

I'm finding it really hard to get a quote. I've had some joiners recommended to me but none call me back. Is this job a complete PITA for joiners?

I have had one quote but it's for £1,500 which is way more than we can afford. Should I just go with this or keep looking?

TIA

It doesn't sound too much to me - is that for supply and fitting? You could look for doors from salvage yards that could be adapted, but it's the hinges and fixing architraves etc that takes the time.
