PLEASE help me with covering my bi-fold doors (gaping chasm of death at night) now autumn is on its way.

I have three doors (1m each) They are in the centre of a wall, the kitchen worksurface is a foot to the right on one wide and there is a sofa next to them the other side - so no room for anything sliding.
I really wish we had gone for integral blinds but don't think that is an option now.
At the moment we have curtains (I don't like the gaping black hole at night) which I hate. We have three cats. We now have three large holes in the curtains which have occurred when the cats have brought in mice at night. Mice have run up the curtains to escape and then chewed their way out to certain death freedom - flamin' mogs (anger would be more convincing if I wasn't in bed with one on my lap and one next to me.... )

So what now? I have searched and searched but can't find anything suitable. Please can anyone advise?

Something like a conservatory blind??

The problem is because of the three doors if we have three blinds then when they are up there will be cords dangling down in front of the middle door which no doubt the cats and children will be playing with!

It might be worth checking whether you can still get integral blinds. I've just had patio doors put in my extension and my builder was wittering on about integral blinds. He said they would install normal glass in the frames in the first instance but that if you want integral blinds they just take the glass out and replace it with the blind filled ones further down the line after relieving you of loads more of your hard earned cash These are just standard patio doors, though, so not sure about bifold but I would have thought the same principle would apply.

My mil has conservatory blinds but they were installed inside a frame which attaches to the frame of the windows. That maybe an option if you don't want to change the glass.

Have you looked at sliding panels? Look for Eclectics blinds (sorry can't link on phone). They're around 60cm wide and they stack on one side of the window so would fit down the side of yr sofa. Can be ceiling mounted and there's lots of choice of plain or some great patterns/graphics.

If it's the gaping hole you dislike, how about getting some subtle outdoor lighting so that you can see and enjoy your garden at night? Some uplighters buried among the plants could look lovely and there are many solar types so you won't waste a fortune on electricity.

In frame blinds would do it. The sort they put onto tilt and turn windows.

I have blinds fitted in to the frames of my gaping kitchen doors of death. They clip in to the inside of the frame.

I just had an extra wide roller blind made up for mine (about 3m) in an extra durable wipe clean fabric ( v cat resistant!). More for sun protection purposes ( I don't mind them being bare at night) but it is neat and easy.

Mine are aluminium - will the clip ones still work? Those of you who have them, how much did they cost and where did you get them?

What about roman blinds for each door - (inside the recess?)

Roman blinds will still have the dangling cord for the middle window problem!
