Does my builder's quote for decorating include stripping wallpaper?

His quote says he will paint the ground floor and specifies type of paint and number of coats but doesn't mention stripping the wallpaper which we have on one wall in our dining room. Can I assume this is included?

Never assume! If the wall paper is paintoverable, I suspect he's just planning on doing that, rather than stripping it. If you want him to strip it, you need to let him know and check it's in the quote. If the wallpaper is in a good state and flat, would it not be better to paint over it rather than risk uncovering crumbly plaster or cracks?

I hadn't thought about painting over it. It is in a good state and flat so maybe that's the solution. The wall behind was in perfect condition when it was wallpapered so should still be in good condition now??? Or, do you think that stripping can leave a wall in worse condition than it started out. Sorry, I am a bit clueless on these things.
