Help choosing sofa

Hi all

So I am due to complete on a house - finally! I need to decide on a sofa and I need some help. Yes I went to dreaded DFS on the weekend and actually found a sofa I think I like but not sure on - not sure if its an old boring look or a modern take on would would be considered old.

So this is the sofa www.dfs.co.uk/sofas/fabric-sofas/concerto/

I cannot decided if I like it in grey pattern or in the blue pattern. Initially I was thinking duck egg blue as a room colour but depends on the sofa colour I go for. I also had my eye on a glossy white coffee table - do you think that would go with this style of sofa? I don't want people to think I have mixed and matched styles and the result looks like I have no interior designs skills!

A picture of my lounge is on my public profile (don't know how to attach images to this conversation) - bear in mind I will be repainting the walls and removing the shelves and one day changing the fireplace mantle to something more modern.

Let me know your thoughts Smile

Nice sofa - I prefer the plain to patterned myself - but think its quite a classic style so not sure it would go with a very plain white gloss table. I've seen this kind of sofa with an elegant Perspex/glass table (the type made of one piece of glass) and that looked good though.

Can't see your profile so can't see what your room/ decor is like which might change things! If its generally v modern and sleek I'm not sure a patterned sofa like that might look out of place.

looks stylish but are you sure its comfortable? It has a very low back.

Oh oops still new to this site hadn't created a profile - but its done now.

I like a hard sofa to sit on nothing too soft and this really fit the bill. I take your point on the glossy table the showroom had it with a glass table too.
