I want to redo the curtains in my lounge. They are currently in this Elanbach. They have a similar blue one but don't want to spend that kind of money at the moment. I also like really like Ian Mankin and this in particular but again looking for something a little cheaper as dh not too chuffed i want to change the blinds - even though they are 5 years old and haven't liked them since the went in i have grown tired of them!

Ikea has quite a few stripe fabrics, you might find something you like there and v cheap. Dunelm Mill is cheapish too although you aren't likely to get as sophisticated a pattern.

Warehouses like aberkhan...some visits you are unlucky other visits you can pick up sanderson or similar for a five a meter.

Laura Ashley has some nice fabrics at about £30 per m- still pricey but in out local one they sometimes have seconds- I bought some lovely fabric from there recently as a seconds roll- £6 per m and I can't tell what's wrong with it. Might be worth a look?

also try Tetford Fabrics - lots of good neutrals and stripes, nothing as bright as the elanbach but they are all end of lines of designer ranges so great quality at v v reduced prices. I recommend it a lot and have not been disappointed.

Or second the fabric warehouses - but you need to know what metrage you need as they move the stock quickly.

For bright stripes try Deckchair stripes - really unusual colour combinations.

I'm no goddess bit just been shopping like you. Asked fabric shop who does great design and quality for the price and they said prestigious textiles and another I can't recall just now. But almost went for one of their fabrics at 12.99-18.99 per m depending on where you shopped. I googled the fabric once I found it for best price and some variation on price and minimum order. In the end went for a lorient fabric not bad at 14.99
Per m. Carried at John Lewis for 20 per m
