High sleepet vs cabin beds

Hi, DD has a very small bedroom and I am currently bed shopping - would appreciate some advice! I've seen a lovely high-sleeper in the sale in Habitat but am wondering if it could actually make the room seem smaller due to it's height. So am wondering whether a lower cabin bed would be better... any thoughts?

Cabin bed! They are still a pain to make, but climbing up high to change a fitted sheet is a nightmare! Also - if they have a heated blanke you need a VERY long wire.

We bought the FLEXA system when DS was 2 - and he is still in it at 17, and it still looks in really good condition. Bed has a slide out desk and drawers that fit under. We also have the matching wardrobe. It convers o a standard bed bu DS like having the storage under it.

We too have a FLEXA system, and have both the long and short legs so can make it either Cabin or High Sleeper. When DD was in it as a high sleeper, it felt a bit oppressive and is much nicer as a Cabin bed..

Second what Milliways says about changing sheets - that was my first thought - changing sheets on a high sleeper/top bunk is always a bit of a pain..

Thanks Milliways and BlueString. Yes, it was the risk of oppressive-ness that was putting me off the highsleeper. Think I'll take a look at the flexa system.

We have flexa too, downside is definitely changing sheets, but ds has learned to do it from a young age! For us the pluses outweighs the sheet thing as his bedroom is seriously tiny

Cabin. I think its so much nicer to go into their room and be able to see them, rather than having to climb up stairs to check they are asleep. The room looks open and the space saving is great. I always though high sleeps look a bit like an extra looming wall so make the room seem that much smaller. We got our girl the pine and purple one from www.childrensfunkyfurniture.com/mid-sleeper-cabin-beds Its not an offensive purple so she can keep it for as long as possible, has plenty of storage and a little desk
