How long to receive funds from overseas account.

Number 3 in a chain of 4. Supposed to be moving today, not exchanged yet.......

Originator of chain is a cash buyer and is waiting for funds from offshore account. Said can take up to ten days and they requested funds when we should have exchanged last Friday. New completion date of next Friday now looking shaky, am I right to smell a big rat here?

Not impressed. HATE HATE HATE this process.

Depending on where the money was sent and the type of payment request it can take up to 10 working days. I used to live in Cyprus and the standard transfer time was 3 working days, whereas if I used the post office it took up to 10 working days.

We use currency broker to move dh's pension to our account after the admin started to cock it up. If we pay ?8, it leaves Lloyds in the morning to the broker's account, and arrives in Credit Agricole later the same day. So, same day transfer.
