....colour worktop and flooring? Any suggestions / successful combinations out there? Think we want stone or granite worktop and karndean / amtico flooring. Light and airy room , north facing, onto garden. Thinking light and neutral / natural but dont want too cold or too bland! Hmmm! [ confused ]

I think it has to be a light eg limestone effect floor. Worktops you could then either go light, or dark ( granite / slate?) or wood?

Or slate type floor and wood or light worktop?

Not done it yet, but decided on Burford grey and after hours and hours of daydreaming, think I have just about settled on Karndean spring oak floor (which we have in rest of downstairs - dark in places, but warm and goldenish overall); a yellow-y cream on the walls; Howdens cream square edged laminate for most of the work tops, but with v dark grey/black granite or stone on a small area of the island to define a sitting area. Range will be gunmetal or black, with a black or dark grey sink too to avoid big expanses of too light a colour. Like you Villa, would love comments as DH just says "Mmm, sounds ok."

Sounds beautiful. We got something similar to you last year. I LOVE my kitchen. For the granite I chose the black one with flecks of silvery blue through it. Blue pearl.

Thank you Sunny Smile. Have just googled blue pearl and the greyer ones look PERFECT!

I love that oak floor, thanks partystress, and have picked up a sample of Kashmir White granite which might do the trick. Thinking cream / beige walls too. We've got stainless steel range. Not sure about a ss splashback, might be a nightmare to clean , tho am a bit of a slapdash housekeeper so don't really care!
