Help me decide on colour for my dining room please!

Moved into house last year. House is Edwardian. Room has a bay window with door out onto a veranda.

I stupidly rushed into getting curtains and roman blinds made for the room and they cost a fortune so I am stuck with them. They are gold with a dark red flower. Floor is dark wood which I love.

Am contemplating wallpaper but DH not keen. Was thinking of a pale gold textured paper. Or we can just paint.

Any suggestions of colour?

Oh - room will mainly be used in winter.

Sounds very similar to our dining room which has a dark wood floor, dark red and cream blinds, and we've just painted the room in F&B Ringwold Ground. It looks gorgeous.

Thanks HazzaB. Will have a look at that. Just looked at curtains again and they are more of a coffee/taupe than a yellow gold.
