Moving to a new house in Oct - new for us, not a 'new' house.
It is carpeted throughout but they are ten years old and the current owners have a hairy cat.
DS suffers cat allergy, so keen on getting the old carpet out as well as considering hard flooring in the kitchen/diner and possibly DS's bedroom.
The house is 1930's so is floor boards so am interested in some sound-proofing/padding (?) to reduce noise upstairs and warmth downstairs.
Have no idea where to start though.
Please tell me what I need to know.
