we have moved might have mentioned it already and I am struggling a bit to know how best to use colour to bring the downstairs rooms to life. there is a lounge with a striking but not original turquoise glazed fireplace set into a dark brown high mantelpiece. it is very over bright and I would like to mute it!

then there is the kitchen diner, a through study, and a family room. I am quite taken by the dulux origins range and I am thinking a parchment colour throughout with a feature colour in each room, but tho blues in that range do seem very cold? I would most likely use the greens in tin family room and study and blues in the lounge and kitchen.

where can I find inspiration?

Farrow and Ball website has a lot of different colour schemes and ideas www.farrow-ball.com/Inspiration/content/fcp-content. Also try houzz.com which has loads of pictures of lovely rooms. It's American so the rooms tend to be vast by our standards but good for inspiration.
