Kitchen planning help please

We have been working on our extension for a while and finally there is a light shimmering in the distance at the end of the tunnel!

So far we have an L-Shape of units in our new kitchen/diner - It was a small galley kitchen before leading from the dining room - Now we have a fab space to the back and the old dining room is going to be a family room.

We have also added a utility so saved space from washing machine etc but still dont think I have enough storage so can this space take a 2x60 island and if so where? Or could I run a peninsula from the pillar opp the work surfaces?

Opinions welcome and help please! I have waited for this nice space and dont want to make it all cramped now! Hopefully you can see planner on my profile?

I can't see the planner on my phone but we only have a 4.1m run of units. Most of the base units are drawers. We have 2 sets of pan drawers for pans/cooking equipment and 2x5 drawers with cutlery and tin/jar storage. You can pack more into drawers than cupboards. We also.got extra tall wall units. Oh and a fab larder cupboard that we throw all the small electricals/potatoes/junk into that is not in the main run. Corners are not very efficient so if you can avoid one then do.

Sorry forgot to say we compromised and only installed a compact dishwasher. It is ok but we tend not to put pans in. I would do the same again to leave space for a dining table but do hanker after a fu size washer!

Thanks for the advice - If I put in a small island I was going to use 2 sets of pan drawers to maximise storage - everyone says they are great for plates etc :) Unfortunately I already have one of the useless 'magic corner' units :(
Just dont know if Island is the way to go :s
