Builder's quote includes fitting kitchen - does this mean he'll cut the worktops?

I was looking at buying my worktops online and am looking at Worktop Express who seem to offer a cutting service as extra. I had assumed the worktops would come cut to size and with a hole for the sink. What do you think my builder has assumed? I'm loathe to ask him before I know what's usual in these circumstances.

i would assume your builder would do it

It would be usual for a kitchen fitter to cut the worktops. I assume the builder asked you what worktops you were having because he won't cut granite, quartz or solid surface. They would all be cut to size and fitted by the company supplying them. A kitchen fitter will generally only cut and fit wood or laminate.

My DP fits kitchens, he would expect to and has the equipment to cut and fit wooden and laminate work-tops. Anything else would come ready cut i would say.

He did ask and I told him wood so hopefully that means he's factored the cutting in. I'm afraid that he'll seize the opportunity to make a quick buck if I ask him whether or not he's included the cutting! We haven't signed a contract with him yet though so maybe I'll add that.

Thanks Smile
