We have just accepted an offer on our house, and had an offer accepted on our new house :)..... Mortgage sorted on both sides.... Our buyer is no chain, our vendor is no chain... What happens next?
How long does the contract signing/money exchanging take? I want to start packing now during dc's nap times etc but we are goin away mid september and dont want to be hogging all the suitcases if we are still here, then.
Bought our last house at auction so that was all fairly straightforward contracts-wise :)

All depends on mortgages, surveys, searches etc. Have you carried out survey? Have your buyers? The chain is short (we are in a similar position), but various things still have to be gone through. I think most people would say at its easiest minimum of 6 weeks, and that is assuming no delays. I would work on still being there mid september.

No surveys done yet - 6 weeks is about what I was expecting tbh :) will start packing non day to day stuff up soon then and hopefully nothing falls through.
ThankyouGrin

Just hope surveys are okay, and keep on at solicitors to do searches etc. Ours has taken longer, but we were looking at a later date due to our vendor waiting for a property to become vacant....

Before you start packing start throwing things out. You will thank yourself later on that you are not trying to sort and pack at the same time.

We completely de-cluttered just before we put the house on the market. Theres probably another carboot's worth I can get rid of though :)

The survey at our property is tomorrow now, so that's one thing done. Fingers crossed there are no probs there :)
