Kitchen walls - ivory units and oak surface ?

What colour to give it a modern edge but without making it dark ????

Fired earth basswood. Not too warm. Not too grey and not too dark.

You can pretty well choose whatever you like with ivory units and oak tops. I know that they are a bit out of favour but how about mostly neutral walls with a really over the top and easy to change when you are bored of it feature wall.

There are some fantastic wallpapers about and if you are only doing one wall then it's not too expensive.
