My landlord has said I can paint but it has to be neutral.

Does anybody have any other suggestions?

TIA

Is Featherdown a colour? It's white isn't it?

mylovelymonster · 04/08/2012 23:06

Is that a chalky white?
Have you got a bit more info from LL other than 'neutral'? That could mean a lot of things - either just white or cream, or soft shades of colour?? Just not anything very dark/bright/strong?? You may be able to have something other than white Smile

Also...Homebase are currently doing 5L Dulux paints for the price of 2.5L - including the colour-mix/tailor-made options - hundreds of lovely 'neutrals' there

At the moment the living room is a weird kind of mauve dirty looking colour and the rest of the house is either magnolia or white type colours.

I was thinking of getting red curtains and some other red accessories.

What colour is the floor/furniture?

Thing3 · 04/08/2012 23:36

The floor is pale wood tile, they are in rubbish condition but can't change them!

I have a brown leather sofa, pine tables, wooden stairs and a white bookcase.

Its all a bit of a mess to be honest but that can't change for now.

B&Q are doing 2 Dulux 2.5L tubs for £20 but will look at Homebase to see if their deal is better.

The paint you've chosen sounds pretty good then - specially if you're adding colour with your soft furnishings. Is it chalky white? 5L for £20 sounds very good to me!
Dirty mauve sounds grim Grin It will look so much better when you've done it - feel bigger & lighter

Not sure if it's chalky White as have only seen the picture on their website. The Walls probably didn't look too bad when it was first done but there are loads of marks on it now and it just looks dirty!

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I was in B&Q looking at paint last week and they had painted sample boards above the shelving where the paints are (Dulux) which was really useful to see what the colours came out like 'in the flesh' and comparing them - do they have that at you branch? This was a really big B&Q......
