Cream fridge in a white & charcoal kitchen. Is this a no no?

Seen a Smeg in the second hand shop round the corner. It's cream. My kitchen is white with charcoal grey.

I wouldn't pay the £££s they cost new, but I do like how they look.

It's really cheap!
But cream with white? Will it look strange?

Thanks for indulging me in this most minuscule of problems! :)

It will look strange.
how much are you saving and could you have it resprayed?

MadBusLady · 27/07/2012 17:12

Depends on the kitchen. If yours is sleek and modern and all fitted (and especially if it's glossy) then yes it will look strange. If you're after quirky and a bit deliberately mish-mashed then possibly not so. You could add in other cream accessories (ceramics on open shelves? tea towels etc? new toaster or kettle?) and get 50s neutrals IYSWIM.

But yes I think you can get them resprayed, don't know about cost though.

Ooh how would you get it resprayed? (I'm imagining all sorts of funky colours now!)

This will look absolutely ok. In fact I would prefer a cream fridge with a white and charcoal kitchen. All white would look to stark.

I had a brilliant white kitchen with warm white skirtings and on the kitchen door etc. The decorator said to do it and I was glad I did

Trust me coz I am right Grin

We've got white cupboards in the kitchen, sort of wood grain effect laminate, and a cream 4 oven Aga, so not a small cooker. It works, the worktop is dark blue and black sort of speckled, so not too different for colours.

Cream with white is very elegant and I have used a smeg cream fridge a few times in refurbs at the owners request

threefeethighandrising · 28/07/2012 19:42

Thanks everyone! I went ahead and got it :)

I fibbed a little please don't shoot me!

It wasn't actually in a shop, it was on ebay, but I didn't want to advertise it in case someone else liked it and started bidding against me. (Paranoid, me?!! Grin)

This is it, I like it!

If it looks odd - hey, I'll stick it back on ebay!

Good move Grin I hope you like it.

Ooh it's lovely! And definitely a pale elegant cream rather than a buttery yellow one. Good move I think.
