Window blind help

Quick question - I have a new blind to put up within the window recess. Which side do I leave the gap ie does the blind go tight up against the window so all the windowsill is on the room side of the blind, or does the blind go flush with the wall at the outer edge of the sill? Hope that makes sense and thanks.

I think you can do it either way and it depends on which looks better for your window. Personally I prefer the blind next to the window...
