Currently redecorating the whole of our down stairs- big open plan living room, through to diner/kitchen. Walls in living and dining room are "wild wood" which is a warm beige.

Now I'm stressing over colour of kitchen! It is a hand built wooden shaker style, currently a very pale blue. would need to paint cabinets and the tounge and groove walls. Against the warm walls of dining room it looks odd and needs re-doing anyway. No idea at all about what colour to use, like the idea of a grey/stone but then that looks too purplely I think?! My kitchen tiles are a darkish blue speckled (only round the oven) and my worktops are mottled granite.

Had no idea it would be this stressful!

There are loads of different shades of grey (about 50 I think Grin) so try several, they don't all look purple. Some have more green in them, some tend towards blue, and some towards stone. Have a look at some of the tones in your granite and see if you can pick something out from there?
