Over bath shower screen, incorrectly fitted (I think)

My over bath screen has been fitted today and I have just realised that it won't open outwards. So, I cannot easily reach to turn on bath taps, use the shower attachment for hair washing etc. Surely this can't be right?

The new bath has a small outer raised edge and the guy hasn't fitted it flush with this but rather, down in the dip so to speak- I'm not explaining myself well here, sorry!

Does anyone understand what I'm on about and am I right to complain about it? It will mean replacing the tiles he has drilled into and I don't expect he will be happy but my old screen moved both ways iykwim.

Some shower screens aren't designed to open outwards. Some are even fixed in place. I spent ages trying to find a nice one that would swing both outwards & inwards. At least the way yours is fitted should minimise leakage & wet bathroom floors.

Thanks Ponks. Actually, it is the original screen just a new bath with a slightly different top.

Anyway, the workmen are back in now and they have moved it up (very slightly) and it is fully functional again.

Good! I was going to say that if it's designed to swing, ie not 'fixed', the idea is that you can then reach the taps!
