what colours go with silver and grey wallpaper

Hi, my mum is redecorating her living room and the wallpaper is a silvery grey colour with a darker grey pattern. She wants a new mirror and was going to get a cream and gold framed mirror but I dont think it will 'go'
Her fireplace is a pale white colour.

Any suggestions would be great, thanks

A bit hard to answer this without knowing what else is in the room.
Silver rather than gold is a bit obvious but maybe a dark wood colour would look good.
Is your mum trying to match other elements in the room?

Purple would go, dusky blue, my best decorating colours!

Most colours in fact, since silver / grey is quite neutral.

I'd go for a silver framed mirror as the cream and gold will work against what's already there. Laura Ashley have some beautiful ones. Introduce colour in the soft furnishings.

That sounds dreadful as a colour scheme, but it does work

Silver, lilac, yellow, teal.

Im not keen on the colours tbh, it looks a bit cold but may look better when its on the walls, she's got light oak furniture, brown leather suite and a white ish fire surround.
I do like the purple idea but I think that may be a bit too modern

Fushia will go with silver and grey.

Soft green would go with the grey, the oak, the leather without being too modern.
