Has anyone had a sofa recovered recently?

Just looking for a very rough idea of how much it cost, excluding the cost of the fabric? Have inherited a sofa from the PIL's recent downsize, but not sure I can live with the current fabric ...

We had a 3 seater re-fitted with new seat cushions, loose cover ( they came and made a template) + 4 new scatter cushions. It was £400ish including the fabric. It really revamped it and I'm glad we had it done. lifestyle covers here

If you went for a proper re-upholstery job with £+++ fabric I imagine it would be at least double that. Depends how good the original sofa is as to whether it's worth it.

We had a proper re-upholstery job done a couple of years ago on a 3 seater settee, 2 seater settee, large armchair and foot stool. The total cost was just over £2000, and it could have easily been double that if we had a chosen from the more expensive fabric books.

I did think it was worth it in the end but OH was a bit gutted as he had suggested it thinking it would be a really cheap way of getting new look furniture Grin.

Hmm, good points - it's a 'period' sofa in good condition, and I know recovering certainly won't be a cheap option ...
