Real estate agents - advice

Hi,

We are relocating to London in August, so looking to close a lease as soon as possible.

Besides the major hurdle of opening a UK bank account, we are looking for a good realestate agent, and have come across londonrelocationservices dot com

Talking with them, they seem very knowledgable. However, they charge one month rent (will cover the property agent fee, if any) - AND - if you don't settle down on a property, they will charge 1000GBP for the tour.

My question: before committing 1000GBP - does anyone here have experience with them, and can comment?

Thanks,

Why do you need a relocation agent? Where do you want to live and what are your requirements/budget?

There are plenty of rental properties in London, you really don't need to waste money on relocation agents.

Or is your company paying?

its not normal in the UK to use a relocation agent - and therfore not many around

and especially for rental can't see the point and I would want to visit the property I lived in - rental property varies a lot and also areas can differ from street to street
I would look to get a short term serviced apartment when you move for the first couple of weeks and find a property then - assuming you can't come over before you move
