Shower in an en-suite

We are building an extension, adding a great long kitchen diner and WC downstairs, 2 bedrooms, a laundry room and and en-suite upstairs.
The ensuite will be about 1m40 wide, by about 2m30.

DH likes the idea of a walk-in style shower cubicle like this across the end of the room, whereas I am leaning towards a smaller square cubicle like this with a floor to ceiling built in cupboard for towels, spare loo rolls and BOGOF showergels taking up the rest of the width.

I think this would look great in a square cubicle!

Opinions and alternative suggestions please

We had a similar discussion when planning our en suite. My husband won and we have a walk in shower with almighty power shower...... But I have to admit I love it!!! Like you I had storage on mind and yes I do have to keep those extra shower gels etc in a "ottoman/trunk thing" at the end of our bed but it is lovely having the space and not feeling closed in. Depends on how much storage you have in the rest of the house.

Go for the biggest shower you can. We have a small square shower in our ensuite and I always shower in the main bathroom that has a shower over the bath. I hate feeling closed in - there's nowhere to turn out of the water when you are washing your hair/face - your elbows and knees end up bumping into the sides - and bending over to shave your legs/scrub your feet is awkward. I just store the spare toiletries on a shelf in the wardrobe in our bedroom.

Another point - when you are looking for a shower enclosure look for one which is flush to the tray. Ours has an annoying ridge that I have to clean out with an old toothbrush and cotton buds!
