Waltham abbey - what's the area like?

So me and my DP are moving to Waltham abbey from East London with our 2yr DD.

My partner is from Waltham abbey so he knows the area well however I've spent my whole life in east London, and this move is a big thing for me!

Can anyone tell me what it's like to live there?
Whats it like travelling back to London as all my family still live in London and I don't drive!

Any info appreciated!
