Bathroom colour scheme. Is this lacklustre?

My new bathroom refit starts on Monday and although the first few days will be spent ripping out the old, I still haven't settled on any sort of colour scheme for the final finish.

The sanitary ware is white; tiles are white and very large; a single border of slate, glass and stone mosaic type tile (dark grey/black/lighter grey); flooring will be dark slate/black.

So, so far everything looks contemporary and understated and hopefully stylish however, I need to introduce a paint colour and at this point I could ruin it!

I brought home a paint sample called grey slate - I know, it's beginning to sound boring but it matches beautifully with the border tile. Would this be a step too far with the slate grey theme?

I'm a bit afraid to go off in another direction as far as colour goes, unless anyone has a brilliant suggestion?

The bathroom is a reasonable size and very light if that helps. I'm in a bit of a flap now!

Sounds good to me - I love grey bathrooms. :) You can always add some colour with towels, a picture or other accessories - and paint colour is much easier to change at a later date than tile colour!

I have a very similar bathroom, white tiles on the wall with grey floor tiles, and and glass and slate border! I have white walls as I wanted to keep it bright and simple. We do have bright towels though!
It looks lovely, very contemporary.

Thank you Sinking. I have plenty of form when it comes to getting it slightly wrong!

absolutmum white was another consideration but I was concerned about the possible hospital/hotel/empty feel. Also, it would be quite a bit of white wall space and I have two mucky dc's!

I agree though, that with the right accessories, it could look amazing.

I'm not sure if it would be too much grey. Certainly something dark would be too much...a very light, warm grey mightbe nice though.

I have black and white/cream tiles and a beigey marbley looking floor, white fixtures etc. and on the walls I put a light warm beigey colour, think it's called pebble by dulux, it's similar to London Stone by F&B apparently.

You might do well with something similar to that. It sounds lovely btw.

Though looking at this it is far more like Dimity. Ours is I mean.

Exactly what SinkingFeeling said - I will be going for a very similar look...and planning bright pink towels/accessories - but easy enough to change in a few years.
