Best way to finish pine doors?

I've just had all the dirty fingermarks, paint splodges, scratches and stains sanded off my pine doors and am now wondering how best to keep them looking pristine - should I wax/oil/varnish? Anything else??

I like the paleness of them as they are so don't really want to change the look, if at all possible. Any advice gratefully received before I mess up!

I'm gonna give mine a coat of woodstain - french Oak - and its a lovely rustic colour.

I have oak interior doors and oak bannister handrail - my builder is finishing them with this.
