How long to wait for slow buyers...mortgage offer running out soon and baby no2 on way...

I wonder if anyone can help as I am going slowly insane trying to sell our flat...had full asking price offered back in feb; survey done; offer accepted on dream house - all proceeding...or so we thought...three/four months later, still no exchange - turns out our buyers didn't have their passports so couldn't get their mortgage...so back to square 1 - flat back on market, our dream house back on market.

next phase! another offer accepted on our flat three weeks ago - not as high as original, but no chain from below them - and semi-proceeding with our dream house (who now want a huge holding deposit to guarantee that we'll complete within 28 days before taking off the market)...however...on saturday, it will be three weeks since we accepted the offer and although survey has been paid for apparently, it hasn't been booked...we would hold tight if it wasn't for the fact that we also have a private offer (not chain free, but slightly higher than current offer), also have someone else (ftb's)who wanted to make an offer last week (but we said that we already had a buyer, so they held off) and also, a second viewing from someone else coming at the weekend...added to the complications, is that fact that our mortgage offer runs out september 5 and I am due to have my second child 2 weeks later, so ideally, we obviously need to move by then (wishful thinking?)

ANyway, would love to some advice - we really don't know which way to turn now - our EA - who we are bugging every day now - says he is trying to push to find out about our current buyer and survey, but how long do we wait now to find out what's happening - it's driving me mad? and do we go back to our other interested parties before ditching this buyer in case we risk losing everyone? how long does it usually take to book a survey? and in the meantime, how do we keep the other house that we really love and want to move into? and should I ditch any idea that we will be moving before sept 5?

Thanks!
