New wooden flooring and need decent door mats

Can anyone recommend any door mats that will catch a lot of debris so it doesn't damage our lovely new floors? The one we have is rubbish! Ideally need an indooor and outdoor one :)

I reckon you need a good BIG one, outside and in. They are usually quite expensive in coir, an independent carpet supplier will probably have some as they tend to supply shopfitters and offices. Mine are 1000mx600mm. Litle thin weedy ones are useless.

John Lewis usually have them, they are cheaper in Wilkinsons, and I was surprised to find a big one in a Thursday offer at Aldi. It has a PVC back whick is less dusty than woven back. You have to hoover them as they shed bristles when new.

It is useful if you can hang the outside one over a fence and hose it ocasionally, they accumulate an enormous amount of dirt and grit (obv.)

I use turtlemats at my front and back doors (inside only). They catch a huge amount of dirt and are machine washable too. I really like them - wooden floors seem to be surviving

Actually they seem to do outdoor ones too now!

A second for turtle mats - look on their website. I think they have special offers for cut mats eg when they have a cut piece left over from another order.

They usually have a sale section too - I've never paid full price for one but they are worth it imo!
