White, black or oak front-door?

Our current UPVC door leaks every time it rains. We're in a 1912 red-bricked terrace with white UPVC window frames. Wanting to get a composite door (one that is plastic but looks like wood), question is white (but gets easily marked & scuffed & looks like everyone else's on our street), black (prob my preferred, but with white window frames?) or oak-coloured (again with white frames?)? Any advice/tips/WWYD?

Of those three choices, black definitely.

Some of my neighbours have white composite and they just look like UPVC ones, and they look less inviting to me somehow.

Never seen an oak one but it would need to be good otherwise it would just look like plastic wood perhaps?

A friend has black, with silver door furniture, and it looks really smart.

We are brick built and have red, with red diamonds in the glass, I love it :) Composite feels so much more solid than our old door.

I'd go with black.

Oh, and my friend and I both have white framed windows - coloured door looks absolutely fine.

OOh thankyou - I agree the black ones with silver look really smart & the white just look the same as UPVC - there's a gorgeous picture in our catalogue of a red door with red diamonds - unfortunately due to budget constraints think we'll be going for plain textured glass rather than the coloured ones.

My friend has the sort of high up fan window on her black door - looks very nice. Can't remember if we paid extra for the fancier glass - not sure we did actually. Enjoy your lovely new door!

imitation wood made of plastic looks horrid IMO.

Definitely black! :)
