Would you be irritated by this?

We moved into our house in December last year. It took the agents until early Jan to take down the sold sign (and that took a couple of phone calls).

Anyway, here we are almost in July and the house is still sitting in the middle their window marked as sold.

I don't know why but it really irritates me every time I go past. It would be the height of petty behaviour to ring them but how long is it going to stay there!

Rant over! However, is there a reason other than my irrational anger I could use to get them to take it down?

why did you not just take the sign down yourself? i would have done

I guess business must be very slow for them otherwise they'd be needing that space to advertise properties for sale. Not sure what, if anything, you can do about it though.

Thisisyesterday - it is the picture etc in the estate agents window. Sorry if it wan't clear.

I know there isn't much I can do but I just want to storm in and say "THIS HOUSE IS NOT FOR SALE!!!!"

They leave them up to show they are selling properties.

oh sorry, you said it took them ages to take down the sold sign, so presumed you meant the one outside your house!

does it matter if they have it in their window as sold?

EverybodyLovesWine · 24/06/2012 21:16

No, I know it doesn't matter but after six months of driving past almost everyday it has begun to really irritate me! I have no idea why really. It may be that we have done loads to the house so far and the pics look like a totally different house.

I will continue to seeth inside and try to feel sympathy that business must be so slow that they still have a house in the window that sold six months ago!

Or maybe get a life!! Smile

If you find 'a life' would you mind letting me know where you get it from? I've been looking for ages.

Viviennemary · 24/06/2012 21:49

We just took our sign down ourselves. I expect the photo of your house is still in the window marked sold is because in this bad housing market they have to convince people that they can actually sell houses. If it really bothers you, why not give them a call and ask them to take the photo out of the window.

Just call and ask them to remove it - I wouldn't be especially chuffed to have a ic of the inside of my home in a shop window for months on end.

You could have called them in the time it's taken to post!
