Have looked at F&B Babouche yellow - anyone else used this ? I'm after a big ,cheery in-your-face yellow (not canary yellow, nor creamy yellow) It's for a dining room that needs a lift. Am a bit of a longtime F&B-er but am willing to convert - it's just I like the chalky finish Smile I do know that yellow walls can make a lot of folk feel a bit sick ! Thanks

It looks nice on the colour card I think. Have you googled it to see it in other people's rooms?

ItsInTheTrees · 22/06/2012 21:22

I have had a google yes, but Babouche doesn't seem to be very popular , so not too many examples. I'll risk a tester pot then ! Smile

I just did a wall in little Greene's 'mister david' (bright bright yellow) last week. Beautiful colour. Painted over it after 12 hours Grin - just too eye-watering on a whole wall!
Incidentally, in terms of coverage and depth of colour, having used both, I'd go Little Greene over f&b every time - no comparison. To give an eg, it took about 3 coats of fb dark red to cover a white wall completely, compared to only one with lg.

Same lovely flat chalky finish with little Greene, I should say - I'm a total convert, can you tell?!

Not used babouche, but can highly recommend f&b's Cat's Paw which is a sandy yellow so not too custardy . It's an old colour so u won't find in homebase but can def get it from a F&B shop. It's just lovely.

have just used babouche on woodwork / radiator in downstairs loo... it's lovely, but not sure I'd want a whole room of it, it's quite statementy and quite mustard. had a tester pot of citron... that might be better for a large expanse...

I'm going for little Greene trumpet in my kitchen...it's certainly bright!

I've just painted my dining room in Babouche and absolutely love it. It's a north facing room and really cheers it up. We've got high ceilings and a fair bit of white woodwork in there to balance it out, but it is gorgeous, would use it again!

Ah Gingerstuff - that sounds just lovely ! I love yellow next to white - even though I'm allergic to eggs Smile
