Tiles for ivory white shaker kitchen?

My fitter thinks glass upstand wont work with my sink/window sill so now looking for some neautral tiles to go with an ivory shaker kitchen/oak work tops and terracotta floor . Looking for somthing a bit shiney maybe as dark kitchen - price not important as quite a small area.

Glass metro Tiles?,we have them in a very very light Duck egg.The do reflect the light back into room.

I liked the ones in the Valencia range from fired earth for my v similar sounding kitchen here as they are neutral but have slight variations of colour/sheen so not too uniform iyswim but they worked out too expensive for the space we had so found similar ones in topps tiles much cheaper

Or if you like glass then fired earth do some nice glass tiles too

I have these in my kitchen. There are loads of different colours and the light really does bounce off them as well as changing colours depending on the light. They're in the sale atm too.

I like the Valencia ones too - we have a small area and it wouldn't be too expensive.

I'd go for cream metro tiles. Glass SIL date quickly IMO. We have a cream kitchen with cream files - was put in around 15 years ago before we moved and it still looks ok.

I've just had the same issue and have ended up going for cream metro tiles. I always wanted proper glass splashbacks, but we had too many wonky angles next to a chimney breast, so it needed to be tiles.

I did have a slightly 'toddler-tantrum moment' in the middle of the tile shop when the beautiful full-on-sparkly-and-glittery-glass metro tiles were £6 each... but common sense took over and I do realise the logic of going for the neutral option at 40p each.
[imagining myself standing breathing down tiler's neck for fear of him damaging/dropping/cracking £6 tile] emoticon!

Now I just need to decide whether to have them in a brick pattern or standing upright which my mum thinks will be more practical.

Is anyone using colour on the walls with white/cream units and white/cream tiles?

We are going to warm the kitchen up on the advice of a "posh" decorating shop, by using "India Yellow" (kind of turmeric coloured paint) on the walls, but I'm not sure if it will be a bit busy with white units, dark countertops, white tiles, and then yellow walls...

DH refuses to go for all-white though and I would prefer something warmer too.

jamais I used f&b green ground colour on the walls with cream units, cream tiles and wooden worktops, I'm v happy with it, I think it warms it up and it would be a bit bland with an off white on the walls too - but then I've gone for a trad look so if you want something more modern then maybe off white would work or a brighter colour. Yellow I think v much depends on the shade!

We're planning on a white kitchen with white tiles and will also have colour on the walls. Something grey/green I think.

Grey/green here called 'watercolour green' from dulux - discontiuted but paint shop makes it up for me - Its a very weird colour as atlhough its quite dark it sort of reflects light and make a space seem huge and has a modern edge as well. My son has it in his room with white furniture and turquoise bedding.

All I kind find on the web are white white kitchens - seems magazines shots are all done in neutrals.

I know what you mean about yellow, but this one is kind of browny (sounds horrible - it's our first foray into F&B paint - we'll see! We have painted a sample of it onto a big bit of plywood and the colour looks nice with our floor (terracotta tiles).
